I had the opportunity of arranging music for Orchestra FLEX of the Longy School of Music, and one of the pieces was originally a progressive metal piece by Dream Theater, a favorite band of mine. It was a challenge to translate the very specific sound that comes out of a metal band, especially one as skilled and talented as Dream Theater, into an orchestra environment, but that's what makes it fun!
